The Citizens for a Greener Evanston and the Rotary are showing the documentary Sustainable tonight 10/17 at the International Rotary headquarters in Evanston at 1560 Sherman Ave. in downtown Evanston. It starts at 6:00pm, and is going to be held in the third floor auditorium. It has gotten lots of good reviews. Hope to see some people there. Hope this helps, Nancy

I hope folks took advantage and got to see the film. It's also on Netflix where I stumbled across it several months ago. I happen to know many of those folks from my days as a NAPA owner, then even more during my restaurant phase. Great people, and an even greater philosophy and vision! I remember feeling "what if..." as the movie concluded. What a different world we might be able to create.
D.G. Sullivan's, "we're a little bit Irish, and a whole lot of fun"!

There were probably only 50 -75 people there. The filmmaker was there too, and took questions after the film was over. He lives in Evanston. The film is also available at Amazon, and if you are a prime member you might be able to see it for free? I am not a member of Prime and so I am not sure. This movie came out in 2017, he just came out with another documentary too that he was promoting, but I forget the name of that film. They got beverages donated by Newport Coffee House which is a new coffee house in Evanston next to Koi, and some restaurant donated the rest of the food, some of which I am sure is not sustainable. They did have plates made out of recycled paper, and some forks that looked like they were green in nature.
