I know that LTHers have mixed feelings about Chicago Restaurant Week. Some think it's all hype, others that you can find great deals. In any case, it has generated spinoffs, two of which start today:

Chicago Independents Restaurant Week (November 13-16)

Some restaurants in this consortium have special menus for $33.
They also have occasional groupon-style sales of coupons for $50 worth of food at a given restaurant for 1/2 price.If you are on their email list, they send notification.

Chicago Asian Restaurant Week (November 9-19)

You can look at the menus on the website and see if anything looks tempting.

Restaurant Week showcases in La Grange, Elmwood Park and Andersonville begin Friday and run through March 1. Restaurant Weeks in Pilsen and Rosemont begin March 1 and run through March 7.
