    Steve,

I'd love to but, as you know, I'm on parole.

Can we stand outside in the cold, red-nosed and ruddy-cheeked, and stare through the windows with dog-eared copies of "Kitchen Confidential" raised on high?

Maybe lead chants of "Hell no, we won't 'Yum-O!' Go home with your EVOO!"

If so, I'm totally there. Ghiradelli Hot Chocolate sounds good.

Partially kidding. I'm over my Ray-ray disdain.

Evidently Rachel has eaten that entire jar of chocolate (and a few more like it) since that picture was taken.

I don't have a television so I miss out on the pleasure of being entertained for hours each day. Yeah, right.

Last week I booked a room at the Hyatt Lodge at McDonald's Campus the night before a 6 am flight at Midway and watched one of the many RR shows - I think the one where she spends $40 a day on food. I thought that it was pretty enjoyable. It is kind of nice seeing an ordinary person with a great joy of life touring around a town in Italy. She had a lot of enthusiasm for the topic.

I have to say that it was an improvement on some of the STUFFY shows that were on Food TV six or seven years ago.

On the other hand, she's so beloved dead Victorian novelists are writing books about her.

At least the book is food (drink) related.

It is also a charming love-story, centring on sweet-natured Rachel Ray and her suitor Luke Rowan, whose battle to wrest control over Baslehurst's brewery involves a host of typically Trollopian local characters.
