Wade Roberts and I will be leading a group of Columbia College students through the Maxwell Street Market this Sunday, October 15. We will meet at the White Palace Grill, corner of Canal and Roosevelt, at 11:00 AM.

PS, the tube socks are among the few things I WON'T buy there, I've had nothing but bad luck with them, bad elastic, scratchy polyester and the shrinking, Oy!I used to think the brain was the most important part of the body. Then I realized who was telling me that.

You had the misfortune to purchase yours from an unscrupulous sock vendor. I swear, the ten pairs I bought for five bucks in 2003 have served me well -- I wear them constantly. Heck, I'm wearing a pair right now!
