    Louisa,

Many, many thanks for organising this evening. It was a great pleasure for Amata and me to meet you and also ( I must confess) to make our first visit to Hop-Leaf. The steak-frites dinner was quite delicous and the company both during dinner and thereafter was excellent. We had the chance to reconnect with old friends and make some new ones as well.

Yes, it was a wonderful party, with delicious food and lots of convivial folks. Thanks so much for putting this together, Louisa! I'm only sorry that we didn't have more time to chat with you and your sister. Next time, I hope.

    Best,
    Amata

Thanks again, Louisa, for organizing a wonderful evening. It was a pleasure chatting with you and Annie -- as well as the great group of LTH folks, too. And, I also appreciate that I got to meet so many people I hadn't met before like the Eat Chicagos, Antonius, Amata, Octarine and a bunch of others.

Who knew Monday a Monday night could be so enjoyable?

    Thanks again,

    Thank you, Louisa and Annie.

It was very nice to meet you both.

And, it was nice to see all of the other LTHers.

P.S. As to be expected from an LTH event, it was a very educational evening. For instance, I learned that St. Bernardus + St. Bernardus = Sleep Like A Baby.

    Louisa,

Thank you for arranging the very nice evening. It was, as always, a pleasure to chat with you, Annie, LTHers and to meet people from your, and Annie's, amazingly wide ranging circle of family and friends.

Even though they could only stay a short while, it was also nice to chat with Homaro and Katie Cantu. Embarrassingly, I did not recognize Homaro at first, it seems the Chef's food is not the only thing capable of changing form while staying substantively the same. :)

    Enjoy,
    Gary

pd - so glad you were able to make it later after all - and did you actually have a barley pop/soda?

Octarine - we kind of took over the place, didn't we? Front room, back room, mezzanine, upstairs private room - by the time Annie and I left, some of us had even moved back down to the bar.

Antonius - it was such my pleasure to meet you and Amata. (And as long as we're making this confession - it was my first time to Hopleaf too. ) So happy to hear the steak frites was good - because after all, if you're going to risk your soul to eternal damnation, it sure as hell better be good.

Amata - yes, my only regret too was that we didn't all have more time together. Next time - all-nighter - and then on to a greasy-spoon breakfast.

Sonja - nice to meet you too - thanks so much for coming out.

Ron - yes, we had a pretty amazing cosmic convergence of company, didn't we? But Monday nights are enjoyable again!

Erik - and I take it you don't mean waking up crying every 2 hours?

Gary - it was so good to see you and Ellen again! And perhaps you didn't recognise Homaro at first because Katie is so glowing. :D
