Just wanted to remind everyone that the event starts at 6 pm, with a mingle hour and passed appetizers. Dinner will start at around 7 pm.

Spirits and wine are byo. Beer and soft drinks can be purchased at the restaurant.

Please don't forget your gifts (if you're planning to participate in the exchange) and more importantly, your donations for the GCFD.

    Thanks - see y'all there! :)

10 years ago today our youngest unexpectedly had to accompany SaintPizza and I to the LTH Holiday Party at Sun Wah, and I hope everyone tonight enjoys the fare at LTH as much as he enjoyed his duck leg then :D

Outstanding! Very glad it worked out.

Separately, I've been reminded that there is a home Bears game tonight, which could have an impact on travel times.

Thanks for a wonderful time, and for celebrating my birthday with me. SueF and cookiemonster really managed to surprise me with the wonderful cake (I hadn't budgeted belly space for that).

    A couple notes:
    * those were the biggest darn dumplin's I've ever seen: Har Gow were at least twice the size of anybody else's, and the Siu Mai about 5X normal.
    * nobody does shrimp toast better
    * if we were to plan this again, I might skip the crab, it's just very difficult to harvest the flesh, and I hate to do a half-@$$ed job on a pricey dish
    * both rice noodle dishes were wonderful, definitely don't skimp on that

After missing last year's, Mr. X and I were delighted to be back. It was great to see everyone and stuff our bellies with delicious food. We are excited about our raffle wins (thanks David and Carolyn Hammond and mhl!) We managed to find room for the wonderful cake because it was Joel's birthday. The sacrifices we make. ;-)

    Cheers, everyone!

    Hi,

I was the happy recipient of SueF's Christmas cookies, which will put a dent in my need for cookie baking this year. Yay!

Despite the small space, room was made for keeping the raffle prizes (two chairs facing the wall) and Mamagatcha's brilliant choice of laundry baskets. We pretty much make any space work in our favor.

It was great how food was served one at time, so each course could be savored without competition. We only lagged toward the end as we got full. It was a delightful dinner in many ways.

Thank you to Gary who knows how to make LTH sing!

    Regards,
    Cathy2

That was a very nice time last night and the food was great. I'm having some trouble getting pics off my old (and maxed out) phone but I hope to have that remedied soon, and post a few images here, if possible.

Thanks, to everyone who came out and to all who donated items and money to the food drive. Thanks, also, to Chouxfly (gift exchange, food drive), mamagotcha (food drive), The GP (name tags), Cathy2 (gift exchange) and G Wiv (menu planning) for taking on their respective extra tasks, so that the evening could go off without a hitch.

One bookkeeping issue has come up. Due to the unexpected generosity of Little Three Happiness's owners, Raymond and Betty, we find ourselves with a bit of a surplus today. In fact, we have just about $500 leftover. That comes out to an over-payment of $11.32 per person. What I'd like to do is make a donation of $500 in the name of LTH to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. However, if you'd like me to refund your over-payment, please send me a PM with your preferred paypal address and I will send you the funds asap. At this point, I'll likely make the $500 donation to GCFD, regardless of how many refunds are requested.

    Thanks,

You are basically like a better George Clooney. Great idea.

LTH holiday party at Little Three Happiness was more fun than a barrel of pandas, food, converstaion, friends, just a wonderful overall evening. Happy to see the batch of chili oil I made disappear, and the Bride and I love the GP and Mr. X's raffle gift, who knew we needed green tea kit kats in our lives.

It took me a little while. Instead of selecting certain images I took during the Holiday Party, I decided to zip up all 54 of them, and post that .rar file on a handful of free download hosters. 8)
Here are the two indices which are also included therein. Image Image The 9.3 MB .rar file (Use winRAR or 7Z to unzip.), lthf-holiday2019.rar, has been uploaded to these hosts. You need only download from one of them.

If the host asks for a download key, it is 2019.
The .rar file password is "$tuffed_chgO_chine$e" {without the quotes}.
I expect this .rar file to remain on-line for a long time.
As well, I had a very good time. I thank the organizers and our hosts. :)

All set. I made an online donation yesterday of $500 to the Greater Chicago Food Depository and put a note in the comments section that it represented an additional contribution from LTH Forum.
