Monday Foot Festival at Cafe Central 26 Jun 06

Please join me tomorrow at noon for fine Puerto Rican cuisine at Cafe Central.

I'm particularly fond of one of their Monday lunch specials, Patitas Guisado, or stewed pigs feet with garbanzos and potatoes in a sauce laden with olives and capers. The Friday pig ear and snouts special is also lovingly prepared in the same or a very similar sauce. I highly recommend their meat stuffed potato and plantain fritters. Join me for some tostones, maduros, a jibarito, or even a bowl of their tasty beef and fideo soup. I'm looking forward to introducing all of you to this fine establishment.

I won't be able to join the throng, but can recommend the goat stew which was excellent the last couple times I was there for lunch. (Since I work on the south side, usually I drop off my knives to be sharpened at Northwestern Cutlery first, then pick them up after lunch.)

Great idea, I'm going to try to hoof it on over to Cafe Central for the foot festival, CC has long been one of my favorites.
