We went to Brandeis today, and were very disappointed. Although it was only the second day, the place had the look of the just-before-discount-weekend: some tables were partly empty, no boxes of books on the floor, really poor pickin's.
I found a couple of SF books worth reading, a copy of The Adventures of Kavalier and Klay (pulitzer prize winners don't tend to show up in used bookstores), and a couple of cookbooks just barely worth picking up. Usually MrsF finds a couple jigsaw puzzles -- nothing. We got out of there spending just over $30, usually more like $90.
If you want to find anything, go quickly.
On the positive note, some folks were handing out cards that the book sale
will continue, run by Little City.
What is patriotism, but the love of good things we ate in our childhood?
