Only 3 of us didn't leave great ordering power but we tried 4 of the 6 varieties of dumplings. Completely fresh, as they are making them to order as we watched through a window at our counter seats. I thought all 4 that we tried were very good, but my favorite was the shrimp, pork, and Chinese chive. Both the beef and onion and the pork and sauerkraut were close seconds. Though tasty, I wasn't as fond of the shrimp, sweet corn, and chive, probably because the corn felt strange in a dumpling. Sauce was make your own with vinegar, soy, and a very spicy chili paste. The pan-seared are the first that I have ever had where they use a corn starch (?) slurry to add some crust to the bottom. I liked the tea boiled egg and small sides that are included.
This is a tough location, with the entrance in the back and a bit south of downtown Libertyville with limited food traffic. I am also concerned that the limited menu of dumplings only may be an issue. That said, they are putting out a very fresh and tasty product, and I will be back. Plus, Angela is indeed freaky friendly.
