The 84th Dessert Exchange: Sunday, July 28th, 3:30p

Hey!

Good news! Molly and I will host the July dessert exchange at our apartment in Logan Square. We'll have nosh for everyone, and then we'll share desserts.

I have no ideas what the rules are, because this will only be my second exchange. And it'll be Molly's first. We're passionate eaters, and if someone is up to teach us how to bake before the event we'd be totally game.

1. Definitely bring containers for leftovers - Laura, I owe you your containers back from the 83rd exchange (thank you!)

2. Our dog sheds, but he won't be present for the exchange.

3. No cap on numbers - invite +1s - as long as people are comfortable sitting around our kitchen island and/or living room floor.

Ari, it was so great to meet you yesterday at Laura’s. How awesome you have decided to jump in and offer to host in July. I had tossed around the idea of hosting at my house, but am delighted to have you step up. I will find a later month to host.
In the meantime, please sign me up to attend the Dessert Exchange at your place on July 28th. Sometime between now and then I will figure out what I will make/bring. Welcome to Dessert Exchange! As you can see, we are a ‘SWEET’ group!

This is a birthday weekend, but to the best of my knowledge no conflicts
so I'm saying yes!
I've been eating light, so one dessert exchange won't hurt!

Also, I'm not an expert baker like some of these ladies, but if you and Molly wanted to come over sometime to make a recipe together, I'd be happy to walk you through something. i've made a chocolate hazelnut semi-freddo for sunday.

1. Hard stop at 6:15. Hopefully that'll still give us plenty of time to enjoy each other's company.

2. Our dogsitter cancelled last evening :/ The pooch will be home but in a separate room. If he happens to break free please, please, please do not pet him - he's v anxious around new friends.

Welll. Where are the pics?

it's been a minute since anybody's posted pictures of a dessert exchange. i think Laura might've taken some pictures. ari and molly were very kind to host their first dessert exchange in their first month in Chicago, it was a lot of fun. I tried my first Costco pizza, and we had some really nice desserts including oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chess pie, almond cake, blueberry muffins. I made a chocolate hazelnut semifreddo. ari's mom picked up a bakery chocolate cake and did a great job decorating it with the word 'enjoy' in the center.

I sometimes have difficulty posting pics here but I usually have pics and drop a link here to my instagram which is public.

Is there a new date and host?

we have no exchange set up for august, and with the month already half over, i wonder if anyone wants to volunteer to host in early september??
