Sadly, folks here (Phoenix) are shocked... shocked... to learn all of this. Obvious to folks on LTH, of course. To a wider audience? Not so much, I think. It doesn't help that, as the article points out, a lot of food media have surrendered to its misuse.

Post #8 - December 30th, 2019, 6:51 amReceived a gift of 'Kobe Beef' from a company called Mackenzie Limited : https://www.mackenzieltd.com/kobe-sirloin . I am sorry the person who gave these wasted their money on this. Unlike the picture on the website, there was absolutely no visible marbling . I cooked them to medium rare and they were dry and chalky. At $79 for 1.5 Lbs of beef, just an absolute rip-off.
