I don't know a friend sent it to me so I thought I would pass it along.

Wasn't referring to you, just the fact that it's taken Forbes this long to run an "expose" on the subject?

Yeah, Forbes leading the charge into the "Ummm, DUH!" segment of news reporting.
Objects in mirror appear to be losing.

Sadly, folks here (Phoenix) are shocked... shocked... to learn all of this. Obvious to folks on LTH, of course. To a wider audience? Not so much, I think. It doesn't help that, as the article points out, a lot of food media have surrendered to its misuse.

    Not really.

According to the Forbes series, the term "Waygu" is also misleading BS. http://www.forbes.com/sites/larryolmsted/2012/04/13/foods-biggest-scam-part-2-domestic-kobe-and-wagyu-beef/

Nevertheless, the term "Waygu" seems generally accepted by the LTH crowd, but probably shouldn't be See here for example: http://lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4749&hilit=kobe&start=150

Received a gift of 'Kobe Beef' from a company called Mackenzie Limited : https://www.mackenzieltd.com/kobe-sirloin . I am sorry the person who gave these wasted their money on this. Unlike the picture on the website, there was absolutely no visible marbling . I cooked them to medium rare and they were dry and chalky. At $79 for 1.5 Lbs of beef, just an absolute rip-off.

I hope you will contact the company directly, too.
