Sometime back there was a great post about a Korean restaurant. It involved a separate stool for the meats, an all-Korean menu, and a free hour of karaoke. Damned if I can find it, and, after all, I wrote the book about the lth search function. I think it was here because I remember a photo of the meat stool, but maybe the photo was linked to a chowhound post. But I've had no luck with either search on chowhound either. Or maybe it was by someone who subsequently got banned from CH and his posts got stripped? Anyone here able to help me out? Am I imagining things? Or is it just that CH is so impossible to search?

I remember that post too, it was on Chowhound by STP. Here it is:

(I found it by searching for "Tammy")

    Ann,

Coincidentally, I had lunch today at Solga, a newish Korean BBQ place on Lincoln, and we (Mike G, Steve Z, Wyatt, me) were talking about setting up an LTHForum dinner at F.D.L.T.. Though, to be honest, much of our conversation centered on the fact that F.D.L.T. supposedly has Korean schoolgirl night, where the waitress are in costume. :)

Solga is a nice addition to the Korean BBQ scene, flavorful kalbi, tasty baby octopus, downright delicious tongue, good seafood pancake, nice assortment of panchan, very good service and a pleasant physical space. Image

Only, slight, downside is they use lump charcoal with a gas assist and when the lump charcoal runs out the heat source is only gas.

    Enjoy,
    Gary

Thanks Amata and Gary. I'd forgotten the Tammy Wynette connection. And I must say, Gary, that I don't find your pork photos nearly as arousing when the meat is raw. Maybe we've finally narrowed down the critical distinction between food porn and all other porn.

I dunno. The plate in the background with the carpaccio-like slices looks pretty good to me.
