You can add this precious ingredient to all your recipes, but before you start creating, be sure to read its Philosophy http://www.visualfood.org/index.php/en/ ... what-is-it in order to fully understand what is this new discipline.

So, albicusi, how about you join the next LTH picnic? We'd love to see some of your creations in the flesh- er- fruit ? Early September. Check the board for pics of previous years' creations.

Is there any link to the Italian Futurists here? You might get David Hammond interested.

What can you tell is about the founder? And, do you think there are any Visual Food recipes that are appropriate for children? I can see kids being inspired by beets and broccoli if the look interesting.
Man : I can't understand how a poet like you can eat that stuff.
    T. S. Eliot: Ah, but you're not a poet.

Thank you for your interest, Josephine; I will more than happy to join one of your picnic bringing my favorite bouquet of crudités. (see the pic)
Actually one of the main peculiarities of VisualFood, in addition to avoid any waste creating just decorations, is that you don't need to be an artist (like the futurism icon Marinetti) to be able to re-create those edible arts. Each VisualFood is engineered so well that anybody can do, it, following the instructions.

About kids and veggies you are so right that Rita Loccisano just published a book with a title that sounds like "Hooray for the Veggies"
Unfortunately it is not yet translated in English, like the VisualFood book; But if you follow the link you can an see an excerpt with 5 creations; there are clear photos step by step,, so even if you don't understand Italian you can replicate them.

Finally the founder and creative mind that invented the term "VisualFood" and this new approach to cooking:
Rita Loccisano, single working mother, she speaks 5 languages and was into the fruit and vegetable carving when she got sick to throw away food just making wonderful decorations (think about Halloween pumpkins) and started creating real dishes, where you eat what you admire (we say the WoW before the Yum ). And also started experimenting with meat, cheese, chips... any kind of ingredient can be a VisualFood. Than she started her blog, her courses, her YouTube channel with million followers and finally founded the VisualFood company. Now she has a show is in the national television, 2 books published and a third one coming out... The New Big Thing - in cooking - Is Here! :D
BTW in July Rita will come to Chicago and we could organize even few classes with her if anyone is interested.
    Let's keep in touch.

Beautiful! Looks like fun, albicusi. Thanks for posting the picture. Will enjoy trying that bouquet at the picnic. I'm not in Chicago, but I'm sure you will soon expand to St. Louis!
