Hello. I am a Chicago-based food marketing consultant, and a client of mine (an artisan bread company) is looking for local foodie events for sampling/demos/sponsorships. Does anyone have any info on large-scale food events taking place in 2005?

For example, is there anything that resembles the former Best of the Midwest Market at Ravinia? Also, I know Naperville hosts a Wine Festival in the Fall -- has anyone attended? Does anyone know of other such events? Is Sam's hosting a Food and Wine festival at Finkels again this year?

Thanks in advance for your responses. And Happy New Year to all.

Biggest event is FMI in May, followed by NRA.

Hello, I was interested in events that target a consumer audience... anyone know of any large scale (500+ attendees)?

How about Italian Festivals that highlight food prominently?

How about Taste of Chicago and/or any of the myriad Neighborhood Festivals. All of which, you can find out about here.

The coolest Italian festival I went to last year was the Festa SS Lauretana; see http://lthforum.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=1284&highlight=lauretana

I wouldn't call it "gourmet" by any stretch, but there were real, live flying angels.
