Wow, 3rd post and it's about . . . Wrightwood Skewers, just like the other 2 posts. Just a suggestion but if you are going to shill at least go all the way and post the address/contact info so that the folks drawn in by the shilling have the info they need without having to google it on their own. Wrightwood Skewers may be great but I doubt I'll find out as this type of not so subtle PR leaves me cold.

It reminds me of a similar shilling effort by the owner of Serino's Deli over on the board in a land far away a few years ago. I think people stayed away as a result of the faux marketing effort in that case.

I would just like to point out that this isn't a shill. It is posted in the professional forum and he seems pretty clear about the fact that he's affiliated with the restaurant.

In this case, I don't care if he's a shill or not. Honey and rum glazed pineapple is calling my name...but still no address.

How about creating a forum called "restaurant self-promotion" for this type of post?

Anyone who wants to can look at it while the rest of us ignore it.

Those are shills and that's what I'm referring to. And my point was when you ARE going to plug your place, even in the right forum, why on earth wouldn't you post the appropriate contact info? Kind of like buying a TV ad but not telling people how to buy your product, no? But, hey, it's not my restaurant so I'll butt out from suggesting how somebody should market their product.

Actually it's only in the Professional Forum because I moved it here.

The purpose of the Professional Forum is to provide a place where, yes, you can post about info about your restaurant. However, there has to be new news of actual value to our readers; you can't just keep posting "Check it out! It's great!" We also expect disclosure about your connection to the restaurant (which posting directly in the Professional Forum would be, effectively).

I point this out for general clarification, as Jalverio has been contacted directly in his specific case.

It's on Wrightwood between Monticello and Lawndale. Or should I say, "ON WRIGHTWOOD BETWEEN MONTICELLO AND LAWNDALE!!!"

Thanks, JILS. SEEMS INTERESTING THAT NO MEAL IS COMPLETE UNTIL YOU HAVE HAD THE HONEY GLAZED TERIYAKI THAI PINEAPPLE.

Haven't had the pineapple, but in fairness, Mrs. JiLS and I had a pretty good breakfast there. So while I'm as guilty as the next guy of making fun of their naive postings here, I'm going to lay off, because they are obviously trying very hard (and clearly put in a ton of money to fix the place up -- it is a beautiful rehabilitation of what previously was a complete rat-trap dump). And the food is not bad -- clearly beter than anything else in walking distance. So I wish them well, is all.
