I have a small selection of Chef's jackets/coats, black, white, a blue denim, and one black short sleeve. I also have 2 Chef pants, one is a brown w/navy pinstripe, the other is a khaki color. All are 3XL, the jackets barely used, pants brand new. We closed and I don't have a use for them anymore. Price? I dunno...coats $20, pants $15 or make me an offer. All will need to add shipping of course. Msg here, or [email protected]

Thank you Cathy, I am a believer in "there's a reason for all things", so we'll see where this leads I suppose. In the end, we enjoyed running our restaurant more than my banker did it seems. We're actually about to start the next chapter or adventure in our lives. We're "this" close to cementing an offer to move to Juneau Alaska as caretakers of the Shrine of St. Therese 23 miles north of Juneau! Super excited about the new possibilities this will show us, and though it means being away from our 3 little grandsons for long stretches, I think we're both ready for a big change!

    Hi,

If you go to Sitka, there is a surprising bit of Chicago and Midwest presence there. WBEZ's Louisa Chu just adores it there. There is an LTH member who has a Chicago style bar/restaurant in Sitka, Alaska.

A friend Nic Mink has a company 'Sitak Salmon Shares' where he buys salmon from Sitka, Alaska, then brings it to Galesburg, IL to distribute to Madison and Milwaukee as well as Indianapolis. Some day he will expand to the Chicago market.

My next door neighbor growing up, Joe Letarte, is a registered wilderness hunting guide in Fairbanks. When we were kids, he'd come home from school then change into deerskin clothing and moccasins. He stealthly follow little critters. I once joked, "You played Danial Boone as a kid and made it your life's work."

I have no idea on the distance between Juneau and Sitka or Fairbanks, though you never know where life takes you.

Missing your grandkids will bite, though a change of atmosphere can refresh everyone's perspective.

Good luck and please report back on your life and food experiences.

    Regards,
    Cathy2
