Hi - I'm organizing a fundraiser for the non-profit org i volunteer with, Preservation Chicago, for late September. I'm looking into service staff (bartenders, server) and am hoping for recommendations for companies in Chicago that provide this...

We use private staffing all of the time since we don't employ any of our own service staff (unless you count me). Anyway, I used to work in staffing and continue to use the same company...Carol's Event Staffing. Carol is great and really dedicated to getting and keeping the best staff around.

Let them know I sent you and that you're working on a no-profit event, I'm sure they will lower their regular rates for you.

I have about 20 or 30 really great service folks at my disposal who work regular service jobs, but who like to do the occasional catering gig for a change of pace. They are all the cream of the crop. If you're interested, email me. I've been hiring, training and staffing restaurants and events for the last 10 years or so.
