    Thanks

Don't go in expecting the be-all and end-all of artisan cooking, or everything made from scratch-- but this is one of those places you have to enjoy for what it is.

Yeah, I think that's right. The food here isn't changing any lives but it's a solid representation of the category and the service is very friendly.

Not always the biggest fan of Jeri's, more of a Diner Grill guy, I had a terrific lunch today at Jeri's. Short order cook was putzing around in back, the smiling friendly Hon-this Hon-that server worked the grill with a smile while pouring coffee and taking orders. My suggestion, they switch jobs, my burgers and hash browns were right on the mark.

Looks great, Gary. I probably mentioned this elsewhere but because of the positioning of their signage (and the fact that I almost always drove by on the Western Avenue side), I probably went 10+ years thinking he place was called Ham On The Bone before I realized it was actually Jeri's Grill.

Just don’t order the breaded veal cutlet. It’s a manufactured product made with ground “something”. Even I, a connoisseur of junk, found it atrocious.

The fried bologna sign in the window caught my eye, so around 11pm after the Bears game last night I went Jeri's & tried the bologna sandwich & a burger. Flat top thin burgers are not my thing so while I enjoyed, for me the fried bologna sandwich is where it was at. I would have preferred a more hearty bologna but the two slices on the sandwich were crisped nicely, served with tomato mayo lettuce on toasted white bread, sure hit the spot after being out in the cold for 7+ hours.
I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.

According to this tweet/photo Jeri's grill is done for.

As I've entered middle-age-dad years, my drunken trips to Jeri's and its brethren has decreased greatly. But it was always comforting knowing it was there, waiting for me once my boys left the house, and I could return to some of my degenerate ways. It will be missed.
