For cooking at home, we got some soft shell crabs today at Captain Alex in Niles. Huge and excellent. They said they expect to be getting them in on Mondays and Thursdays.

Next time maybe I'll remember to take a photo...

Thanks for the mention of Captain Alex! I bought scallops for lunch and soft shell for dinner. The scallops were noticeably better than what I purchased at Fresh Farms Touhy/Niles a few days ago, simply delicious. Soft shell top of the game as well.

Two guys in the shop, one I'm guessing the owner, both paying attention to new reality health standards. Price was right, especially in light of quality, and I will be back soon. Thanks again.

We bought these enormous, delicious soft shell crabs at Heinen's in Glenview this afternoon and pan-sauteed them for dinner this evening. They order them on Mondays and they arrive on Thursdays. Soft drink can shown for size comparison.
