Grateful Bites, a new pizza joint, opened on Green Bay Road in Winnetka (actually Hubbard Woods). It's a small place with a few tables, so I assume most of their business is takeout. I don't have much to say except I've been 3 or 4 times now and really enjoy their pizza. Two pies I'd recommend are the Elote and the Pepperoni & Hot Honey.

I wouldn't suggest anyone drive up from the City, but for us suburban folks in the area, this is a real pizza upgrade.

I can update my earlier review because I've probably had take out from these folks a dozen times. The pizza continues to show real excellence. Crust is chewy and flavorful, and toppings reflect quality ingredients. Today, on the phone, they mentioned that they'd gotten some chorizo from a place in Wisconsin (I got no further details), so I added it to a pie and it was top notch.

For several weeks now, Grateful Bites has been selling quarts of soup each day (closed Mondays).
Soups is placed in an iced tray on a table outside and there is an empty can on the table for payment, honor system. The can states that “tips” are going to support their staff. Suggested $10-$15 per quart. I picked up a quart of the coconut curry with ramps yesterday and put my bills in the can. I don’t know if they will continue with the soups when things go back to normal, though I have almost forgotten what normal is, but I hope soups will be an option. There were several other tempting choices and I will be back to try more, but the coconut curry with ramps was really good. Really Really Good.
I read that they also have a catering business and that the pizzas are Neapolitan style. Can’t wait to try the elotes.
