Looks like Cleetus Friedman will be taking over the helm at the Fountainhead in his first position since closing City Provisions.

Not sure he can do all the smoking of tasty meats that he was doing at CP, but seems like a good opportunity given his interests in brewing.

That is exciting...maybe it won't just be a place for a beer and whiskey.

That is excellent news. A decent meal is the only thing I've been lacking at the Fountainhead. I love their dynamic beer list and the whiskey slections are top notch.

Really cool that he stayed in the neighborhood, and at a great place that will be even better now. Makes perfect sense.

Go here pretty regularly, and on a visit this past Wednesday received a new, front-of-one-sheet, sort of in-transition food menu. Our waitress said they were going to try and roll out a fully new menu April 15th.

One as-of-right-now change: their fries, which I've always felt were a strong point, are different. They are now more seasoned and come in a pint glass instead of the paper cone. I found this made the fries toward the bottom a little less crisp than the ones near the top.

This is true. I stopped by tonight, and I have yet to see the place as crowded. The menu is defintely in transition, and April 15th is in fact the date they open up the rooftop and Cleetus releases his menu. I'm looking forward to spending more time here now, although I'm sure I'll be annoyed by the crowds that will come with it. BTW, had some chili and fish tacos. The chili had pickled jalepenos and left a tingling burn. The fish tacos were fresh and decent enough. I look forward to more.

A great BBQ menu is planned at fountainhead Monday 4/8 & Tuesday 4/9. Johnny Van, a caterer and great BBQ Pitmaster (JVs BBQ) will be guest chef at Fountainhead for a couple days...in the mood for brisket, pork, or ribs?? Stop by and give him a try, he makes great BBQ.

Stopped in for dinner the other night because I was interested to try the food after I found out the people involved here are responsible for Bar on Buena. To start we had the pub cheese, which was remarkably delicious. I would love to have that to snack on while watching football on a fall sunday, the tangy cheese and chewy pretzel bread would be perfect for it.

Now I ordered a burger. At least, that was what I expecting but alas, it was more of a giant meatball. Not a patty, a ball of meat that left plenty of the nice delicious pretzel bun as overhang. The meatball was properly seasoned though, just disappointed in its shape, not ideal for a cheeseburger. Other than that, lovely meal.
7/10, would return for pub cheese

Nope! I had the very same thought (and smile).

Needed last minute carryout to pick up on the way home from work, and chose Fountainhead. We ordered deviled eggs, a veggie burger with tater tots, grilled cheese with more tots, roasted brussels sprouts, and a side salad. Pickup is at the Fountainhead Market adjacent to the restaurant/bar. There was a table set up with bags, grab the one with your name on it. The market/liquor store is allowed to remain open during the shelter-in-place orders, so it's a convenient option if you want a bottle or three to go with your meal. We were very pleased with all of the food and the entire process.

Edited because I realized I buried the lead: All orders come with a roll of toilet paper
