Bartoli's Pizzeria

Bartoli's Pizzeria must be doing something right. They are apparently being featured on "Bite This With Nadia G" on The Food Channel @8 p.m., Thursday 8/28. That night from7-9 p.m., they will offer a free appetizer to dine-in customers who buy a large pizza.

We've had delivery from them a couple of times. We like it enough to continue to order from them, though it's not stellar pizza.

I've only had their pizza once, and while I thought it was a very nicely constructed deep dish pizza, I could not get by the awfully sweet sauce. It was a little sweeter than Art of Pizza's (and similar to D'Agostino's) as a reference point, all of which are too sweet for my liking.

My brother and I finally tried Bartoli's Sunday for their deep dish. Bartoli's is owned by the grandson of Fred Bartoli - one of the founders of Gino's East. The pizza was very much reminiscent of a great Gino's East pizza and it definitely met our expectations (not a holy grail find, but still great). We would definitely return. We shared a very tasty caesar salad as an app as well. It's a small storefront with one big screen TV in the corner, seats around 25 and does a lot of carryout and delivery. Close to Wrigley Field on Addison at Damen.
